The fun begins!

There's a lot going on around my studio these days. I'm making so many proposals for different jobs that it gets confusing if you try to watch what's going on... Today I started the miniature of the Marshal Frank Hamer monument proposal for the City of Navasota.

Payne Lara, Navasota's nationally recognized sculptor, came out with these wonderful sculpture armatures that make modeling figures downright pleasurable! He has them on the market now and they should be a real big deal.

Moments after I opened the box, I had it put together and ready for clay. It was easy to figure out and required one tool. In a couple of hours I had the basic clay on the armature, ready for details. You can see the concept drawing behind. I'll keep you posted as Frank comes alive.
