A golden evening... with an ox driver!
My friends Larry and Claudia Heidbreder invited me to photograph them in their authentic Texian garb, complete with Liberty and Justice, their Longhorn oxen, who pull a very cool wooden cart. Larry has trained them beautifully, and they perform good naturedly, sharing a huge, extra long yoke, made just for them and their wonderful long horns. Larry speaks softly and carries a big stick, but hardly has to use it.
After taking a bunch of shots of them posing in front of the old Brown Plantation home near Old Washington, Larry obligingly circled the oxen around to the other side of the road and these shots in the setting sun... which are magnificent, if I must say so myself.
